ARTIST STATEMENT

My work moves between the poetic and the reflective, exploring the relationship between the human figure, nature, and the history of painting.

Rooted in my woodland studio, my earlier series - including Loved by Nature and Nature & Movement - evoke a spiritual and emotional bond between humanity and the natural world. Through movement, symbolic elements, and expansive compositions, I explore feminine presence, resilience, and connection.

In my recent body of work, Art on Art, I turn my gaze toward painting itself. By reinterpreting classical masterpieces through a contemporary figurative language, I engage in a dialogue with art history — reflecting on memory, transformation, and the evolving role of the image.

Across my practice, I seek to create works that resonate both emotionally and intellectually, bridging nature, humanity, and representation.

BIOGRAPHY

Daniella Queirolo was born in Lima, Peru, and moved to the United States in her early twenties, graduating summa cum laude from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University in Philadelphia.

Her extensive travels and residencies in cities such as Buenos Aires, Lisbon, New York, and London have shaped a multifaceted visual language influenced by theater, dance, and architecture — elements that continue to inform the movement and spatial depth present in her work.

After relocating her studio to a woodland environment, nature became a central force in her practice. This immersion deeply influenced her series exploring the spiritual and emotional connection between humanity and the natural world, expressed through dynamic figurative compositions and symbolic organic elements.

Queirolo’s work has been recognized internationally, including being Highly Commended at the Visual Artist of the Year Award in London (2024) and receiving the Best Overseas Painter Prize at The Holly Bush Painting Prize, UK (2021). She has exhibited in solo and group shows, art fairs, and international events across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.

Her paintings are represented by international galleries and are available through select gallery partnerships as well as online platforms including Artsy and Saatchi Art. Her works are held in private collections worldwide.
